The Magic of Reading 2003
A fun filled show with lots of laughs AND lots of learning!
Our 'Magic of Reading Show' will start off with a comedy flower warm up, then proceed into a magic book illusion that illustrates the power of reading and why it is so important.
The magical book worm will then amuse and amaze the kids as we learn about several different kinds of books. The kids will then test out their power of imagination to turn a little red ball into a GREAT BIG red ball using the power of their imagination.
Several more comedy magic effects will then be followed by the 'Magic Drawing Board'. The kids will play a little guessing game as I draw a picture of a famous president, and the drawing will come to life and begin talking to them, right before their eyes! This is a fantastic and fun trick that the kids will talk about forever.
I will then bring out my first puppet Edgar Birdon, the talking dodo bird and then Randy Reed my full sized ventriloquist dummy with moving mouth, eyes and eyebrows. Both of these figures will have the children laughing with their zany antics and then they'll tell them about their favorite books and why they like them. Randy will also read some poems from 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' which will keep the kids giggling.
At the end of the show each child will get their own copy sheet of the puppet's favorite reads, whcih they will bring home to Mom and Dad. The kids will be invited to draw a picture or write a sentence about thier favorite book from the list and my puppets will send them a certificate of accomplishment as a reward! This is something the kids just can't resist!
